Conscious, purpose-driven design that sparks curiosity
and connects people to their communities.
Transforming green spaces into vibrant community hubs. Our goal is to deliver a minimum of ten inclusive play spaces across Rwanda within five years — and create an open-source playbook so others can do the same.
Every child in Rwanda deserves safe, engaging, and inspiring public spaces — places where children can explore, families can gather, and neighborhoods can feel connected regardless of background, economic status, or physical ability.
Our first flagship project — a 1.4-acre site in Gacuriro, Kigali, designed to prove the model and set the standard for every play space that follows.
Each play space integrates inclusive play designed for all ages and abilities, community gathering spaces with seating, shade, and public art, multi-use areas for events, fitness, and community gardens, safety improvements including grading, surfacing, and lighting, and connection to nature through native planting and sensory gardens.
Building a playground is only half the commitment. Each project includes a community stewardship plan developed with local stakeholders — addressing ongoing maintenance, safety inspections, and long-term care. We prioritize durable, low-maintenance materials suited to Rwanda's climate and modular designs that can be repaired locally.
One Dash brings together a focused team of specialized technicians, craftsmen, architects, and engineers. As designers and creators, we are committed to conscious, mindful, and purpose-driven projects that spark curiosity and wonder — projects that positively connect people to each other, to their communities, and to the environment.
Founded by Yves Twagirayezu, a structural engineer with over 15 years of professional experience spanning infrastructure projects across the United States. Driven by a deep commitment to contribute to the growth of Rwanda, One Dash channels that technical expertise, design thinking, and project leadership into work that directly serves Rwanda's rapidly evolving environment.
